Former Sports Minister Nii Lante Vanderpuye says President of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi will win any election conducted at the Ghana Football Association on any day because he has majority of the members of the Association in his pocket.
Nii Lante was making this allegation on UTV last Friday, saying all the members at the Association are very loyal to the CAF First Vice President.
“Most of them at the FA who vote, are in the pocket of Nyantakyi and they are people that he has managed to give them positions so they hold loyalty to him.
He also stated that Nyantakyi will win any elections organized at the Ghana Football Association because majority of the delegates will vote for him.
“If he contests elections in Ghana football ten times he will win because he has prepared very well as far as the delegates are concerned”.
“If he (Nyantakyi) wants to help Ghana football to grow he should excuse himself for fresh ideas to come on board. Nyantakyi should realize that with what is happening now he has hit the limit where the football is retrogressing and he can’t bring any new development or change.
“I will be glad if he does not contest the elections in 2019 as he has publicly announced that he will not be contesting”.
On the other hand, Nii Lante also mentioned that he was blamed for Ghana’s failure to qualify to the World Cup because he wasn’t paying bribes according to an Executive Committee member of the GFA Wilfred Osei Palmer. Hence this has made him to believe that the previous World Cups Ghana qualified to, were not on merit.
