Former Hearts of Oak player, Ollenu Ashitey and Aduana Stars’ stalwart, Seth Opare have signed two and three year contracts respectively with Kotoko. Ollenu’s signing was done last week, according to Operations Manager, Ernest Owusu Ansah.
That of Seth Opare was confirmed to Asantekotokosc.com by Accra Rep and PLB member, Thomas Boakye Agyeman. Seth Opare has been with Aduana Stars for five years. He’s grown to become not just an excellent player but also one of Ghana’s most established defensive midfielders.
“Kotoko is every player’s dream. I’m very happy to have joined Kotoko” he said. “I’ve just came but I know that the fans expect a lot from me. I will do my best to help the team win trophies this season and beyond” he added.
Opare and Ollenu join eight other new players who have been recruited by Management. Ollenu’s signing was massively backed by staunch Kotoko fan and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Chrisbill Group of Companies, Christoper Demenya, who paid GHȼ20,000 to support the player’s move to Kotoko. Christopher Demenya also gave Ollenu GHȼ10,000 as a gift.
Players who have joined Kotoko for the 2016/17 season are: Abass Mohammed and Kwame Boahene formerly of Medeama; Awudu Nafiu and Yakubu Mohammed formerly of Ashgold; Isaac Quansah and Prince Acquah formerly of Heart of Lions; Baba Mahama formerly of Techiman City; Seth Opare formerly of Aduana Stars and national U-17 goalie, Danlad Ibrahim.
