Youth and Sports Minister, Hon. Isaac Asiamah, has revealed that the government of Ghana has approved $8 million for the hosting of this year’s Women’s African Cup of Nation.
Ghana won the right to host the women championship which is set to start this November.
And according to Mr. Asaimah, the government has approved $8 million for the hosting of the upcoming women’s tournament.
“The Akufo-Addo led government has approved $8 million for the hosting of the Women’s AFCON, and this will include renovation at the Accra Sports Stadium, training pitches at El-Wak, and the Robert Mensah stadium in Cape Coast,” Mr. Asiamah said when he met the press on Tuesday.
He concluded, “There will be some training pitches being put in good shape for the tournament.”
