Black Stars defender Baba Abdul Rahman, will be a beneficiary of the $15,000 qualification bonus each member of the team will be entitled to for progressing to the next stage of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Gabon.
Rahman, who ended the competition prematurely, according to information gathered, technically remains a member of the team and will be entitled to every benefit due the players.He is a member of the 23-man team that was sent to the competition.
Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), who disclosed this in an interview, added that the player remains a member of the team for the competition.
According to Mr. Nyantakyi, the player would also be entitled to a medal should the team make an entry into the medal zone.
Rahman, is currently with his parent club Chelsea undergoing treatment after he flew to the United Kingdom last week.
The defender twisted his ankle in Ghana’s game against Uganda and this resulted in a meniscus tear and a partial rapture of the anterior cruciate ligament according to Dr. Adams Baba, head of the medical team of the Black Stars.
