Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan has described Coach Avram Grant as a ‘funny man’ who goes every length to make players happy in camp.
‘’Our coach, Avram Grant is a funny man, he plays with us a lot and always out to make us happy in camp ‘’Gyan explained.
The former BBC African footballer of the year was quick to add that the Israeli trainer has a strong personality and he is very serious with his work both on and off the pitch.
‘’ When it is time to joke ,he will do that ,but when it’s time for business there is so much seriousness and this always bring the best in us’’ the Shanghai SIPG loaned striker stated.
‘’ He has always been a father figure for us in camp. He provides direction and motivates us a lot’’ Gyan continued.
Meanwhile, Asamoah has warned of the threat Uganda pose as they prepare to face off with Micho Sredevic’s side.
The Black Stars captain was speaking at the pre-match conference before their African Cup of Nations opener against their recent nemesis, the Cranes of Uganda .The match will confirm whether or not the Black Stars have the antidote to the recent stubbornness of their Ugandan counterparts .The Cranes denied the Black Stars the maximum points in their World Cup qualifier clash in Tamale last year.
Gyan admits that the Cranes would be tough customers but he is counting on the friendly atmosphere in camp to deliver victory for Ghana when they take on the Ugandans in the opening group D game of the 2017 African Nations Cup in Port-Gentil Stadium.
‘’ We have a very friendly atmosphere in camp .When you come to our hotel, it is difficult for you to notice who the leader is, unless you already know me as the captain. He joked.
‘’We are in high spirit and ready to do battle for Ghana and this is seen all over in camp. This is a team made up of experienced and youthful players who are hungry for success and we shall do our best to get the first three points’’ Gyan stated with confidence.
