Black Stars ‘B’ forward Patrick Razak says their failure to qualify for the Championship Of African Nations (CHAN) tournament means they cannot falter for the second time in the upcoming West African Football Union (WAFU) tournament to be hosted in Ghana.
Razak was part of the Black Stars team that were eliminated by Burkina Faso in the CHAN qualifiers where they lost 2-1 at home after drawing 2-2 in the first leg in Ouagadougou.
“We felt sorry for what happened in Kumasi against Burkina Faso. Now all the players understand that we have to do something and we have another chance. So we will use this WAFU tournament to make a case for ourselves. We won’t disappoint,” Razak said.
The team has started intensive preparations ahead of the WAFU tournament which kick start on Saturday 9th September. Ghana will play Gambia in their first game of the tournament on the opening day of the competition at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
