Chairman of Black Stars ‘B’ management committee, Eddie Doku has apologised to Ghanaians for the team’s Championship Of African Nations (CHAN) elimination and has promised to put smiles back on the face of Ghanaian soccer loving fans in the upcoming West African Football Union (WAFU) Cup.
The WAFU Cup commences on Saturday 9th of September with the local Black Stars playing Gambia in the opening match in Cape Coast as host nation.
The team were involved in a three-day intensive training in Elembele where coach of the side Maxwell Konadu used to shape the team.
Doku said the preparations had been good so far and were ready to correct their mistakes in the CHAN disappointment using the WAFU.
” I wish that we will put in our best because we know the goodwill that the whole Ghana put behind us especially after our 2-2 draw at Ouagadougou . Unfortunately we were unable make Ghanaians happy. We pray to God that come Saturday and the following two weeks we will do our best to make Ghanaians happy,” he noted.
