Raphael Dwamena Reacts To His Disallowed Goal Against Uganda

Black Stars forward, Raphael Dwamena, says he is not surprised that his perfect goal against Uganda was disallowed by referee Daniel Bennett.

Dwamena late in the game against Uganda hit the back of the net, but it was ruled as an offside but video evidence showed that it wasn’t.

According to Dwamena, he is not surprised about the referee’s performance because bad officiating has been the norm in Africa.

“Everybody saw the goal, we are in Africa and i’m not surprise. At the end of the day the referee didn’t take the goal,” he told Abusua FM.

“A protest has been lodged against the referee but Egypt has already qualified for the World Cup, We thanked God that we didn’t disgrace ourselves in Uganda, a draw is better than losing. The referee whistled for a goal, he first pointed to the center circle but his assistant referee raised his flag and he went straight to him and he said it is offside.”

On the new players in the team, the FC Zurich man said, “We have a lot of youngsters in the team, i think we have a long way to go and we will still make it.”
