President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kwasi Nyantakyi and his Vice George Afriyie would soon be summoned before the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports and Culture, as parliament moves to resolve the rumoured rift between the two.
The power brokers in the GFA, have not been on the best of terms and this seem to have affected the smooth operations of the football controlling body in the past few months.
This has been handing despite the recent appointment onto CAF AFCON organizing committee and a subsequent appreciation from the vice president.
Honourble Alex Agyekum, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports and Culture disclosed to in an interview with Accra based Hot Fm that, the two opinion leaders, would be called by the committee in order to resolve their differences.
“We would soon invite the two gentlemen to Parliament so we can resolve the differences. It looks like the two men are joking with the hearts of Ghanaians since football is the passion of the nation.
“We would seek to get to the root of this and solve any issues between the two once and for all.” He stated.
Nyantakyi is the current 1st vice president of the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF), whiles George Afriyie also serves on the CAF ‘s AFCON organizing committee.
