MTN FA Cup Quarters: Hearts of Oak, Medeama, Wa All Stars Through To Semis

Hearts of Oak piped Danbort FC 1-0 on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium to go through to the semi-finals in the 2017 MTN FA Cup.

The second-tier side in the first department of the tie troubled the Accra giants as they gave the home side a good run for their money.

Hearts of Oak came into the second half with a different strategy as they pelted the Nungua based side with series of attacks.

In the 70th minute, the Phobians were awarded a penalty after Patrick Razak was brought down in the box.

Vincent Atingah elected himself for the kick and he sent the goalkeeper the wrong way.

Danbort came from their shells as they pushed Hearts of Oak back but the 10-time FA Cup champions defended their lines to win the game.

At T&A Park in Tarkwa, Medeama defeated another second-tier side Amidaus Professionals 2-1.

Medeama shot into a two-goal lead in the first half through Rashid Nortey and Latif Salfu.

The Tema based side reduced the deficit in the second half courtesy Isaac Amoah.

Elsewhere at the Wa Park, Wa All Stars beat Berekum Chelsea 2-0 to book a place in the semi-finals.

The Wa Blues scored in each half of the game through Nasiru Moro and Seth Amoateng respectively.
