Asante Kotoko have qualified to the semi-finals of the 2017 MTN FA Cup after beating second-tier side NEA Salamina 2-1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
The Porcupine Warriors opened the scoring in the 11th minute through Saddick Adams.
The Division One League side then mounted intense pressure on the Kumasi giants and they restored parity in the 34th courtesy Obeng Junior.
Salamina pressed the action in the second half but late in the game, a controversial penalty was awarded to Kotoko, and Amos Frimpong stepped forward to struck the winning goal.
Kotoko have thus joined the likes of Hearts of Oak, Medeama and Wa All Stars.
