Accra Hearts of Oak received the 2017 MTN FA CUP committee this morning at the club’s secretariat.
The MTN FA CUP trophy tour was kickstarted at the home of the Phobians with the club, well represented by Board members Frank Nelson Nwokolo, Hon. Vincent Sowah Odotei, and Thomas Esso.
Commercial Affairs and Marketing Manager of Hearts of Oak Kwaku Sakyi Quashie together with Administrative Manager Hackman Aidoo, and Communications Manager Kwame Opare Addo also represented the club.
FA Cup Committee supremo Kurt Okraku, and other high ranking members of the committee were also present at the event.
The Chairman for the event, Thomas Esso, congratulated the FA Cup committee for the yeoman’s job in organizing this year’s event. He, on behalf of the board chairman, lauded the club’s five players, who helped Ghana to win the WAFU cup, and also extended his best wishes to the Black Starlets ahead of their match with India.
Mr. Esso lamented the unfair officiating that has hugely affected the club in the on-going league season, and urge the Cup body to select match officials who would be firm and fair on the day.
The huge MTN FA CUP trophy was on showcase at the Hearts secretariat with the mascot for the occasion, Mr. Obia Ny3 Obia, revealing his repertoire of dancing and entertaining moves.
Hearts will play Kumasi Asante Kotoko on the 29th October, 2017 at the Tamale Sports Stadium and Kurt Okraku stated reasons the game should not be missed. He said the official hashtag of the finals is #UnMissable because it was the first time in 17 years that Hearts is appearing in the finals, and also the first time the two giants of Ghana football will be vying for the cup in 27 years.
