Asante Kotoko were handed their first defeat after their fatal accident six weeks ago on the Nkawkaw road.
The Kumasi giants went down 2-0 at WAFA in a Premier League outstanding fixture at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope on Wednesday.
The first half of the tie ended goalless despite WAFA dominating the Kumasi giants.
The Academy Boys piled a lot of pressure on the Porcupine Warriors and Prince Ampem shot the home side into the lead in the 57th minute.
Nine minutes later, Daniel Lomotey doubled WAFA’s lead with a fine finish.
Kotoko then failed to make good use of the chances they had as the game was brought to an end.
