City Migro cycling club based in Accra won gold to dominate in this year’s national cycling championship in the team time trial category with a defined time of 1hr 14min 19sec establishing an enviable average speed of 40.4km/hr.
The quartet which comprised of Emmanuel Obour, Godwin Dzeha,Michael Agbugblah and Abdul Rahman defied the soggy surface to complete the difficult team assignment in 50km.
River Park Brong Ahafo registered a time of 1hr 29mins 42secs to pick up the Silver medal.
The home based quartet – Anthony Boakye, Kusi Clement, Akakpo Wisdom and Peter Eshun were inspired by the home crowd cheers to the second spot.
Young Stars came third in a time of 1hr 17mins 37sec to grab the Bronze medal.
The Junior category saw River Park Brong Ahafo placing ahead of River Park Eastern region in a time of 1hr 14m 47sec and 1hr 32m 52 sec respectively in average of 33.7km/h of 42km distance.
The second day of event will bring out the best in the individual time trial brag on the road in a lonely stretch of 42km and 28km of Elite and Junior respectively.
