Ghana’s Emmanuel Tagoe will battle it out with former World champion Argenis Mendez on September 2nd at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
The fight was initially announced to come off on August 26th at the Bukom Boxing Arena but it has been rescheduled.
In a news conference on Friday at the Infinity Night Club in Accra, the card put together by Baby Jet Promotions confirmed the new date for the card.
The Chief Executive Officer of (CEO) of Baby Jet Promotions Samuel Anim Addo said:
“On September 2nd, Emmanuel Tagoe will defend his IBO lightweight belt against Argenis Mendez from Dominican Republic,”Anim-Addo said.
“The aim of Baby Jet Promotions is to produce world champions and we have done that with Emmanuel Tagoe.”
Tagoe in addressing the media stressed that he is ready for Mendez and he will surely stop Mendez in round seven.
“I have trained very well for this fight, i’m a king when it comes to boxing. I will stop Mendez no matter what. Ghanaians don’t regard the IBO belt so i will make sure i will win the WBA, WBC, WBO and the IBF.
Tagoe will be making his first defense of his IBO lightweight belt against Mendez. The Ghanaian won the belt last December after claiming a unanimous decision win against South Africa’s Mzonke Fana.
