Athletico Madrid’s midfielder and English Premier League winner and Leicester City star, Daniel Amartey have both earned starting roles in Avram Grant’s line-up in this afternoon’s game against the Cranes of Uganda at the Port- Gentil Stadium in the ongoing African Nations Cup in Gabon.
Thomas Partey is making his debut appearance in the Nations Cup for Ghana after enjoying similar role in the World Cup qualifiers against Egypt in Cairo last year while Daniel Amartey is making a second appearance in the tournament after Jonathan Mensah’s injury in the previous tournament.
However, under fire goal keeper, Razak Brimah maintained his position in the line-up and will man the defence with Baba Rahman, Afful Harrison, Daniel Amartey and John Boye.
Mubarak Wakasu will partner Thomas Partey with last tournament’s best player Christian Atsu supporting skipper Asamoah Gyan, Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew up front.
Ghana will seek to undo Uganda to make their dreams of ending the Nations Cup drought a reality.
