With the 2017/18 season coming to a close, Finder Sports brings to you a list of Ghanaian players abroad who have been outstanding and won trophies with their respective clubs this season.
- Kwadwo Asamoah- Juventus
Kwadwo Asamoah has been the most successful Ghanaian player in Europe after clinching the Siere A title for the sixth consecutive time with Juventus.
He also helped his team win the Coppa Italia title after beating AC Milan 4-0 in the finals. Asamoah has won the Coppa Italia four times in a row.
Asamoah is unlikely to extend his contract with the Italian giants at the end of the season with Inter Milan set to be his next destination according to reports.
- Majeed Waris- FC Porto
Majeed Waris on loan at FC Porto was able to clinch his first career league title with the Portuguese giants in the 2017/18 season. Waris joined FC Porto from Lorient in the winter transfer window. He made his debut in the Uefa Champions League against Liverpool in the round of 16.
Waris made five league appearances for the Portuguese giants, helping the team clinch their 28th league title in five seasons.
- Kasim Nuhu- BSC Young Boys
Black Stars defender Kasim Nuhu who plays for Swiss giants BSC Young Boys helped his club to clinch the 2017/18 Swiss Super League for the first time since last winning it in 1986.
Kasim Nuhu was very instrumental for the club this season with some remarkable performance earning him a call to the Black Stars.
Nuhu made his debut for the Black Stars in Ghana’s final World Cup qualifier against Egypt at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium
On the other hand, these two players have been very instrumental for their clubs this season.
- Jordan Ayew- Swansea City
Despite been relegated from the Premier League with Swansea City. Jordan Ayew has had an outstanding season. He recently won three awards at the Swansea City Players gala held at the Liberty Stadium.
He picked up the Swansea City Supporters’ Player of the season, Players’ Player of the Year and Goal of the season.
Jordan Ayew scored 11 goals for Swansea in the 2017/18 season making him the top scorer at the club for the season.
- Thomas Partey- Atletico Madrid
The SWAG Foreign Footballer of the Year is likely to pick up a medal in tomorrow’s Europa League final against Olympique Marseille.
Thomas Partey has been one of Ghana’s top performers in Europe this season.
Atletico Madrid are favorites to win the Europa League and a win will ensure Partey crown his season with a trophy.
- Albert Adomah- Aston Villa
Ghana forward Albert Adomah’s incredible performance in the 2017/18 campaign for Aston Villa has been rewarded after being named the club’s Player’s Player of the Season.
Having made 32 starts in 37 Championship games for Villa, Adomah is the side’s current top scorer with 14 goals to his credit – making him one of the top scorers in the English
He has netted 15 goals in all competitions, having also scored once in two League Cup appearances.
