Ghana Tennis Federation honors Daniel Mensah

The Ghana Tennis Federation has honored the Chief Executive Officer of Dan De-Van Group of Companies Daniel Mensah for his continuous support towards para athletes as well as the sport.

Mr Daniel Mensah was awarded last Saturday during the launch of the 2018 ITF Dan De-Van WheelChair Tournament held at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Speaking to the media after the ceremony, Daniel Mensah expressed his gratitude for the honour conferred on him by the Ghana Tennis Federation.

Daniel Mensah stated that he continuous to support and give opportunities to people living with disabilities because they also deserve a chance to play tennis and make a living.

In addition, he presented 10 wheelchairs to the Ghana Wheelchair Tennis after helping the Association to clear the wheelchairs from the port. The wheelchairs were funded by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

“I am donating this wheelchairs to the players so they can prepare well for the upcoming tournament”, Daniel Mensah remarked after presenting the item.

General Secretary for the Ghana Tennis Federation, Filipina Frimpong thanked Daniel Mensah for his kind gesture towards the Federation and urged Dan De-Van and Mac Dan Group of Companies to come together to organize a big tournament for both the able and disable tennis players.

Meanwhile, Dan De-Van Group of Companies are headline sponsors of the first international wheelchair tennis competition which will be staged in Ghana from November 5-8, 2018.

The 2018 ITF Dan De-Van WheelChair tournament is an international event which will be opened to all wheelchair tennis players across the globe.

The tournament has been approved by the International Tennis Federation. A cash prize of $3,000 will be awarded to the winner of the tournament.

According to our checks, Dan De-Van is considering on increasing the prize money.
