As part of measures to resource swimming personnel with the needed skills and techniques in swimming, the Ghana Swimming Association in collaboration with the Federation International De Natation (FINA) has organized a three-day training program for all coaches, judges and trainers.
The three-day training program commenced today at the media center at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Addressing the gathering during the opening ceremony, Executive Member of the Ghana Swimming Association Mrs Saha Kambo-Lamptey stated that this training program is an opportunity for judges, coaches and trainers to get an upgrade in new swimming techniques.
“This program will elevate you more, because it is very important for coaches because you get to know what happens in the water, when the athlete you train go for competitions. You know more about the rules concerning diving, timing and many others.
“Seeing a number of you here is encouraging for Ghana swimming.
“We are happy to have FINA send us Captain Lawal to train us”, she added.
FINA Instructor Captain (rtd) Olubgenga Lawal in his address mentioned that he was impress with the number of participants at the clinic.
“Ghana is making steady progress as far as swimming is concerned. I pray we will continue to move forward the way we are doing”, he remarked
Participants will be awarded with certificate after the program
