Ghanaian swimming athletes, Kaya Adwoa Forson and Abeiku Jackson have set new records at the just ended CANA Africa Zone 2 Swimming Championship which was held at the Stade Olimpique in Dakar, Senegal.
The three-day event saw, Kaya Forson win gold in the 400 metres individual medley with a new CANA Zone 2 record of 5: 45:4 whilst Abeiku Jackson Abeku Gyekye Jackson won the 100meters Butterfly Men, with a new CANA Zone 2 championship record of 57:56.
Zaira Akua Forson placed second with a new personal best of 5:46:85 in the 400 metres individual medley race.
In the 100 metres freestyle, Kaya Forson picked up silver and followed it up with gold in the 400 metres individual medley women.
In the men’s event Abeiku Jackson won bronze in the 200 metres men freestyle. Kwesi Abbiw Jackson also placed third in the 500 metres backstroke to win bronze.
The competition was participated by the 14 countries out of the 23 countries in the Zone 2.
