2018 ITF Dan De-Van Futures Wheelchair tourney set for Nov 5

The Ghana Wheelchair Tennis in collaboration with the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) and Dan De-Van Group of Companies will organize the maiden edition of the 2018 ITF Dan De-Van Wheelchair tournament in Ghana which has been approved by the International Tennis Federation.

The tournament has been slated for November 5-8, 2018 and will be held at the Tennis Court at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The competition is open to all wheelchair tennis players across the globe.

Speaking to Sportsnetghana.com during the launch of the tournament at the Tennis Court, the Chief Executive Officer of Dan De-Van Group of Companies, Daniel Mensah told the paper that plans are far advanced to ensure the successful hosting of the tournament here in Ghana.

The tournament will see an increase in the prize money from the original $3,000 which has been approved by the International Tennis Federation.

Daniel Mensah who had earlier on donated 10 wheelchairs to the Ghana Wheelchair Tennis stated that these are efforts to ensure the players get the best preparations before the tournament begins.

He appealed to Corporate Ghana to come on board to support para athletes so they can also get some sort of livelihood.

Co-Ordinator for Ghana Wheelchair Tennis, Henry Larbi told the paper that this tournament to be hosted by Ghana will give the wheelchair tennis players the needed exposure to improve upon their game when they play against other players from other countries.

He thanked Daniel Mensah for his continuous support to para sports.

The 2018 ITF Dan De-Van WheelChair tournament is an international event which will be opened to all wheelchair tennis players across the globe.

The tournament has been approved by the International Tennis Federation. A cash prize of $3,000 will be awarded to the winner of the tournament.

According to our checks, Dan De-Van is considering on increasing the prize money.
